BPiON - Scalable Future: The Benefits of Microsoft Azure

Client Overview

BPiON is a technology-driven business process outsourcing (BPO) company operating in Central and Eastern Europe. The company offers digital solutions by leveraging the capabilities of the Microsoft Azure cloud technology, particularly in accounting, human resources, and payroll. Since its founding in 2017, BPiON has experienced dynamic growth and now has offices in Hungary, Poland, and Romania. The company's goal is to provide innovative solutions to optimize business administration processes.

Problem Statement

As BPiON continued to expand, it faced new challenges, particularly regarding scalability. "We needed to scale rapidly from zero to over 200 employees due to our substantial growth in just four years," explained Tamás Kovács, Managing Director of BPiON Hungary. The company had to meet the data security requirements of its larger clients and comply with regulations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Finding the ideal solution was essential to ensure that client data would not be lost or fall into unauthorized hands.

BPiON did not have, nor did it want to maintain, an internal IT department. Their existing IT support company was not prepared, either technologically or in terms of resources, for the rapid growth that characterized BPiON. Scalability was a critical requirement from their clients.

Solution Overview

To scale its infrastructure, BPiON decided to implement several Microsoft services. To enable remote application and system management, they adopted Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). "This allows our team to securely improve or update software from a central system. External accountants and payroll professionals can access cloud-based applications and work from any device, knowing they can rely on the security and connectivity of Azure," Kovács stated. "Since we started using AVD, connection-related issues have decreased to 0.1%."

Using AVD enabled BPiON to operate more efficiently. "Deployment and maintenance became nearly ten times faster, as we can now install and test all applications via Azure Virtual Desktop. Server availability also increased to 99.9%," said Nadolny. "This allowed us to progress faster; for example, expanding our operational infrastructure into two new countries—Poland and Romania—took less than a day."

To increase flexibility, BPiON chose Microsoft Intune. "With Microsoft Intune, users can conduct their business activities on multiple devices, and we can easily manage and update software. Additionally, we can quickly locate a device, as we can check who the last user was at any time," Kovács explained.

For enhanced security, BPiON decided to implement Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection. "Our systems are protected by rules triggered by various scenarios while continuously monitoring for unusual and suspicious activities," Kovács added. Furthermore, Azure Multi-Factor Authentication requires user profile authentication with passwords across multiple devices. "This ensures that only authorized users can access client accounts containing sensitive data," Kovács stated. They unified their IT infrastructure, supporting the integration and use of numerous accounting and payroll systems. Gloster Cloud provides comprehensive support for the entire IT infrastructure, including desktops, at L1, L2, and L3 levels.

Uniqueness of the Solution

Innovation and technological advancement are essential in today's business environment, especially in IT. BPiON recognized this and shifted its IT strategy to better meet customer needs. The introduction of the new Microsoft technology, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), was a significant step for the company. With this technology, they not only competed with the latest IT trends but also provided an efficient, scalable, and secure solution for their clients. By implementing AVD, they replaced their old RDS-based solution, representing a substantial advancement in remote desktop services.

This transition brought changes not only to the company's internal operations but also offered clear benefits to clients. AVD allowed them to access applications and data from anywhere and any device, while Azure's security protocols ensured data protection.

In summary, BPiON took a proactive step by choosing AVD, ensuring that both their clients and their own team benefit from the best technology available.

Why They Chose Us

The choice of a service provider is based on many factors. The demand for technological innovation and new solutions is growing in the corporate environment. In this context, BPiON stood out from the competition.

The primary reason they chose us was our deep knowledge of the latest Microsoft technologies. We understood the benefits of cloud-ready solutions and could demonstrate how they differ from previous solutions. Additionally, we were able to explain the advantages of cloud-ready solutions over traditional ones.

Although Gloster Cloud's offer was higher in price, BPiON considered more than just cost. Professional competence, reliability, and commitment to innovation were key factors in their decision. The Gloster team was significantly more competent than competitors and had a broader spectrum of expertise. This extensive know-how guaranteed that clients received the best solutions.

In conclusion, BPiON chose Gloster Cloud because we offered the latest and most advanced solutions in line with market trends, and our convincing professional background built trust with clients.

The Future of the Project

The project is not just about technological advancement for BPiON; it’s also about transforming their work culture. Nadolny notes, "People trust us when they realize the system works for them, not against them."

Seeing positive results, BPiON strives to further refine its new infrastructure and enhance security. "We are already examining data classification and additional data encryption for some current projects and are considering using more background settings and connections to fine-tune logging and reporting," Nadolny said.

Looking ahead, BPiON plans to continue its partnership with Microsoft. Kakuk summarizes: "Our clients concerned with data security are familiar with Microsoft Cloud solutions—they know this means reliability for them. With this assurance and scalability, we can focus better on our core tasks while entrusting data protection to a reliable systems provider."
